The simple answer is YES! It takes time and a lot of hard work, but if you're ready to roll your sleeves up and get stuck into some serious DIY, then I hope to show you how...
Here you'll find blog posts looking at each "job" we've done, explaining what we did, what we used and what it cost. I think that last point is really quite important as I know when we were starting out, it was all very daunting and one of the biggest questions we had was how we were going to stick to our budget. If there is something specific you're interested in, drop me a message and I'll do my best to help.
I’ll also add at this point that the statement in the picture is the end point... so far we’re about £13-14k into the budget & are about £10k short of doubling the value of the property but by the end of the year - all going well - that’s where we’ll be.
To give you a taste, just some of the work we’ve done includes:
🛠 gutted back to timber & bricks 🛠 re-roofed 🛠 replaced windows & doors 🛠 installed hot water & underfloor heating 🛠 re-wired the entire house 🛠 re-plumbed the entire house 🛠 insulated all external walls 🛠 insulated all floors and ceilings 🛠 boarded loft 🛠 removed walls 🛠 built walls 🛠 built downstairs toilet 🛠 new kitchen & bathroom 🛠 refloored 🛠 plasterboarded throughout 🛠 Tyroleaned the exterior 🛠 ... the list goes on!
